A Voice for All Families. A Champion for All Kids. A Leader for All of Spring Branch.
Meet David Lopez: A Leader Rooted in Community, Education, and Service
David Lopez is a dedicated educator, school administrator, and community advocate with years of experience working in Spring Branch. He began his career as an 8th-grade English teacher in the district’s SKY Partnership, later transitioning into school leadership to improve school operations, governance, and student support systems. His work has always centered on creating equitable opportunities for students and ensuring schools serve the needs of all families.
Beyond the classroom, David has been a strong voice for an excellent education for all students and community empowerment. As a nonprofit leader and small business owner, he has worked alongside parents, educators, and community members to advocate for policies that uplift students and strengthen schools. He believes in the power of collaboration, transparency, and fiscal responsibility to create lasting change in education.
David is running for Spring Branch ISD Board of Trustees to ensure every child receives a high-quality education, educators have the support they need, and families have a true seat at the table. His experience in schools and the community gives him a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the district. With a commitment to listening, engaging, and taking action, he is ready to fight for policies that put students first and move Spring Branch ISD forward.
Building a Stronger Future for Every Student
-
Spring Branch ISD must do more to ensure that every student, regardless of their background, has access to a high-quality education that prepares them for success. Right now, too many students, particularly those from working-class families, are not reaching their full potential. Instead of wasting time on political distractions, our school board must focus on real solutions: innovative learning models, stronger academic support, and ensuring our teachers have the tools they need to help every student thrive.
-
Strong schools are built on strong relationships between educators, families, and the communities they serve. Too often, parents feel unheard and disconnected from their child’s education. I will champion a community school model that brings families, local businesses, and support services together to create schools that meet the needs of every child. Every parent, no matter their zip code, deserves a voice in their child’s education, and I will work to ensure our district welcomes, values, and supports all families.
-
A strong school district requires responsible financial management that prioritizes student outcomes and supports the people who make our schools work. We must be bold and creative in ensuring fair pay for teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, food service workers, nurses, and bus drivers—because every member of our school staff plays a critical role in student success. I will fight for smart budgeting that invests in the classroom, cuts waste, and ensures our district is putting resources where they matter most: in the hands of our educators and students.
